These sponsors are very much interested to promote these solar cars. This alternative energy technology is gaining popularity day by day. Teams such as GM and Ford have started taking interest in these solar car races and this shows how much important this alternative energy technology is going to be. These solar cars are designed while keeping in mind the energy constraints which are imposed by all race regulations. These rules clearly say that the energy can be taken only form the sun and not from any other means of energy. The solar car is usually single seated with just the driver seat but some also have a second passenger seat. These solar powered cars contain the features of brakes and acceleration just like normal cars. These cars are emphasized mainly on the electric system and that is the main component of the car.
